heating a house

hi wondering if I could get some general advice please. I am in NY have a Burnham new boiler with indirect water tank 2 people in house. With the price of oil I am calculating that an electric water tank would be cheaper to run during the summer months than oil. Some of the energy star tanks quote 400 a year for hot water to run and I use that in oil from April to October for hot water. 1. does it make sense to install an electric water tank and switch over to that during warmer monhts 2. Is this is reasonably straighforward installation – presumably some sort of shut off for one would faciliat the other to supply the hot water 3. Is this common place or unusual all thoughts comments/alternatives gratefully recieved many thanks !

you make a good point. oil at 3.20 a gallon is no bargain. the only kind of electric tank i would use would be one of these… [www.htproducts.com] you will pay double for the tank but the installation will be the same cost. but, you’ll never buy a another tank again. lifetime guarantee. take a look at one of these.. [www.becketthm.com] from thir site… Guaranteed to reduce energy consumption at least 10% or we will refund the full purchase price of the product.

SINK DOES NOT SIT RIGHT

Hi All, I just bought a new sink. American Standard. It does not sit flush with my new counter top. One corner sits up higher. I put my old one back on and that sits down fine. I bought a second one (the same model) thinking it was a defect in the one. But the new one did the same thing. Would the weight of the sink make a differece the am stand is much lighter than the Kohler. Any ideas?

If it’s slightly off, the sealant that you use in between the sink and counter-top will usually make up the difference without it being noticeable. The two different ones were probably from the same factory run.
